Pump Maintenance

  • Do not use oil or grease! Lubricating the pump will cause problems.

  • Inspect the strainer from time to time.

  • Inspect the brass valve. Blow into it and test its function.

  • If you have to rinse the pump cyclinder or the piston, dismantle the brass valve and the float, and pull the piston-rod downwards.

  • Should a foreign particle enter the piston take a soft cloth and wipe the piston. Should any particle attach to the piston take a piece of sandpaper (200 or higher) and rub gently to remove. Be sure the piston is wiped clean.

  • Never Lubricate

Following these simple guidelines will extend the life of your Smart Bilge Pump!
